Michael Scott Moore is the author of an LA novel, Too Much of Nothing, and a travelogue about surfing called Sweetness and Blood, which The Economist named a best book of 2010. He’s worked for Spiegel Online in Berlin. He spent 32 months as a hostage of Somali pirates, and his memoir about the ordeal is due out from HarperCollins in 2017.
