Magdalena Edwards

Magdalena Edwards is a Chilean-born writer, translator, and actor. Her work has appeared in The Paris Review Daily, Boston Review, The Millions, and El Mercurio. New Directions will publish her translation of Clarice Lispector’s novel The Chandelier in winter 2018. She is completing a manuscript titled “In the Name of the Body: Traveling with Elizabeth Bishop, Clarice Lispector, and Raúl Zurita.” Her one-woman show I Wanna Be Robert De Niro, which she wrote and produced with Zoom & Emar, premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2017. Magdalena holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from UCLA and a BA in Social Studies from Harvard.
