James Womack

James Womack is a translator and writer. He has published two collections of poetry, Misprint (Carcanet, 2012) and On Trust: A Book of Lies (Carcanet, 2017). He has translated several books from Russian and Spanish, including a selection of Vladimir Mayakovsky’s poetry, “Vladimir Mayakovsky” and Other Poems (Carcanet, 2016). He is one of the editors at Ediciones Nevsky, a publishing house that produces Spanish and English translations of Russian and Spanish literature. He is currently starting up a publishing house in the United Kingdom, Calque Press. He teaches Spanish Literature and Translation at Cambridge University.
