Elle Kurancid

Elle Kurancid is an independent Canadian writer based between Cairo and Athens. In recent years, she has collaborated with multiple documentarians from the MENA region and Europe on deep dives about Egypt’s counterrevolutionary forces, America’s forever wars, Greece’s migratory landscapes, and Yemen’s enduring spirits. She co-wrote the National Geographic Society–funded short film Above the Law (2019). At present, she is editing and co-writing the forthcoming photo-driven nonfiction book His Weapons Are Unwise: The War in Yemen From the Perspective of Yemeni Women.
