Vickie Vértiz

Vickie Vértiz writes essays for KCET’s 710 Corridor Project and has published dozens of poems, most recently in UCLA’s Párrafo Magazine. Her poetry collection Swallows was published in 2013 by Finishing Line Press. Vértiz is working on a memoir called Smart: Young, Gifted, and Brown in Southeast Los Angeles about her education as a working-class Angelena who attended Williams College.
