Michael Avery spent three decades trying civil rights cases and defending criminal cases in state and federal courts. For the past 15 years he has been a professor at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, where he teaches constitutional law, evidence, and related subjects. Professor Avery is a former president of the National Lawyers Guild.
