Lee Smolin is a theoretical physicist and a senior faculty member at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. He has contributed to quantum theories of gravity (loop quantum gravity and deformed special relativity) and to cosmology, quantum field theory, the foundations of quantum mechanics, theoretical biology, and the philosophy of science. He is the author of The Life of the Cosmos, Three Roads to Quantum Gravity, The Trouble with Physics, and Time Reborn.
