L. E. Sissman

L. E. Sissman (1928–1976) was an American poet and advertising executive. His posthumous collected poems, Hello, Darkness, won the National Book Critics Circle Award in 1978. In his 12-year career as a writer, he wrote some 130 poems, many prose pieces for The New Yorker and Harper’s Magazine, and a monthly column for The Atlantic Monthly.
