Joe Henry is an American singer-songwriter, performer, and producer. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1960, he grew up in Michigan and moved to New York in 1985. In addition to recording many critically acclaimed albums, including Murder of Crows (1989), Shuffletown (1990), Short Man’s Room (1992), Kindness of the World (1993), Tiny Voices (2003), and Invisible Hour (2014), he produced Solomon Burke’s Grammy-award-winning album Don’t Give Up on Me (2002) and Bonnie Raitt’s Slipstream (2012).
