Grieve Chelwa is Inaugural Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute on Race and Political Economy at The New School. Previously, he was a researcher at the Center for Financial Regulation and Inclusion in Cape Town, where he worked on public policy issues in the Southern African region. He also worked as a management associate for Citibank in their Africa Division, based in Johannesburg. He obtained his PhD in economics from the University of Cape Town and his bachelor’s degree, also in economics, from the University of Zambia. He is a contributing editor to the blog Africa Is a Country.
